-
- Attention sirius genlock users.... I need some help.
- I have recently invested in one.... I admit it is better than the G-lock
- (GVP) I
- originaly bought for features.
-
- Alas it isn't much better (maybe worse) for giving me a composite o/p.
-
- At least the G-lock had a half decent output, the sirius drives the monitor toooo
- hard... The colours bleed and there isn't much I can really do - short of
- re-maping all the colours or turning their brightness down.
-
- That would be a long and slow task that IMHO should not have to be done!
-
- It did work before.
-
- The other main reason I got the sirius is that is is S/W controled (and NOT via
- the f%$#ing mouse port!).
-
- I set up the software and it kind of works. I can do all the things it claims,
- but it is a lot of work.
-
- But on thing I did also really buy it for is for use with...... SCALA-MM400
-
- Hey ED and Scala are "in bed" with each other, so ....... They are working to
- the same ends. Right?
-
- Ha!
-
- The closest I could get to an EX is the neptun ex.
-
- Yes it "works" but I don't have the audio, well, I can work around it with the
- use of AREXX but considering what I paid.... ED are not doing any more for a
- while (or was that Scala - until the BIM version is up and running).
-
- So I grinned and beared it. I kind of need a composite o/p for the Amiga if I
- want to start home titling. Hey isn't that the purpose of Scala?
-
- So I start "trying out" the functions.
-
- Here is what happened:
-
- The software for the sirius genlock (the commodity - if you will) has an arexx
- prot; which I guess the EX talks to anyway.
-
- What is the name of it - a sirisu genlock with sirius s/w? Neptun! ha ha ha ha!
-
- Yes you heard me right!
-
- All the arexx scripts address sirius! No real problem, just a git of search and
- replace.
-
- Then there is the two sliders on the EX when in Scala.
-
- One is called Amiga and ranges from 0 - 255 and the other is video with the same
- range.
-
- You would think that with amiga at 255 and video at 0 the amiga would be the only
- thing you see, right? Wrong! All you see is video.
-
- Reverse them (make video 255 and amiga 0 and you get the amiga's graphics.
-
-
-
- The adjustment program to set the black / white level......
-
- It gives me a nice screen with colours on it and a slider that does nothing, and
- when I exit, puts a little message in German for me to read. Gee if only I had
- taken German in highschool.
-
- (I won't mention - other than this quick bit here - the spelling mistakes)
-
- I can't spell either, but I get a proff reader and use a spell checker if I am
- going to release a manual.
-
-
-
- Down to the questions:
-
- How do I get a less bright signal comming out of the genlock?
-
- How do I use the genlock with Scala without all the fussing about with arexx
- scripts? OR do I do it manualy? ;-)
-
- Hope to hear from you soon.
